What kind of signal did we just receive from space?
A Daily Mail report noted that an intriguing “10-second signal from one of the most distant points in the universe has been detected,” though its source remains a mystery.
Strange, right?
The report further detailed that this signal was picked up by two different satellites, which were “13 billion light-years away from Earth.” While we don’t know precisely where in the universe this originated, the cause is believed to be a supernova.
Right now, scientists lean toward the theory that the explosion signal is actually a gamma ray, which is a powerful light form that is “the most energetic source of radiation,” as the Mail notes.

The lead researcher on this scientific investigation, Andrew Levan from Radboud University, stated, “There are only a handful of gamma-ray bursts in the last 50 years that have been detected in the first billion years of the universe…”
Since God created the world, the stars, galaxies, and cosmic phenomena have served as His billboard—declaring His brilliance and sovereignty to every generation. Even the most advanced satellites and telescopes are only beginning to uncover the vast orchestration that God put in motion with a single word. To the unbelieving world, signals like this are labeled as anomalies. To the believer, reminders that the universe is not random but created by the God who spoke life into existence.
From the depths of space to the smallest cell, the universe is proclaiming that God is real, God is creative and God is in control. In a moment when humanity is searching the skies for answers, God may once again be using the heavens to point us back to Himself.
