In a powerful testament, Sophia Forchas, one of the students wounded in the Annunciation Catholic School shooting, was released from the hospital and welcomed home by her classmates.

As Charisma media previously reported, Forchas was shot in the head during the mass shooting that took place on Aug. 27. She had to undergo emergency surgery the day of the shooting and would have to go through an extensive therapy process. CBS News also noted that Forchas had to have some of her skull removed to ensure that her brain did not swell.

Forchas, as CBS pointed out, was picked up by a white limousine from Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. She then stopped at Hennepin Healthcare, where droves of nurses and doctors greeted her and sang Happy Birthday, as she had just turned 13.
Previously, the Forchas family gave an update on her condition, saying, “Sophia is winning! Your prayers are working.” They also noted that “We are humbled by the countless individuals across the globe who have lifted her in prayer…God has heard our prayers and wrapped Sophia in His healing embrace.”
