First Lady Melania Trump is hosting a summit featuring the leaders of 45 countries and 28 technology entities in an effort to empower children through the use of tech.
Fostering the Future Together’s two-day Global Coalition Summit marks the first time a sitting U.S. first lady is hosting such an event, a move the White House described as “unprecedented.” The meeting is set to begin March 24 and concludes March 25.
“Fostering the Future Together is a long-term initiative, with member nations spanning from multiple continents. A sampling of member nations includes The United States of America, France, Poland, Panama, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Nigeria, Paraguay, Saudia Arabia, Aruba, Morocco, Kenya, and Israel,” the White House said of the event.

Technology companies participating in the event include OpenAI, Microsoft, xAI, Meta, Palantir, Adobe, Google, and Zoom Communications.
The First Lady previously connected technology to children’s success and education during her historic presiding over a United Nations Security Council meeting.
Declaring that peace “will be achieved when knowledge and understanding are fully valued within all societies,” Mrs. Trump asserted that the “value placed on education by a nation’s leaders shapes the core of their country’s belief system.” She added that children “raised in a culture rooted in intelligence develop confidence, innovate, build, compete, and maintain a deep value system. Their knowledge fosters empathy for others, transcending geography, religion, race, gender, and even local norms. They become caring people.”
Pivoting to AI, Mrs. Trump noted that the technology is “creating a new reality for our children by disrupting the traditional academic path to information.” She added, “The path to peace depends on us taking responsibility to empower our children through education and technology.”
