Jindal’s Practical Solution to Battling Federal Gay Marriage Law

Bobby Jindal prepares to speak at The Response: Louisiana.

Gov. Bobby Jindal isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Last week, he made it clear that radical Islamic terrorists are not going to heaven to be blessed with seven virgins, but straight to hell.

Now, the Christian politician is making a bold statement about how our lawmakers should respond if the Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage this summer. The High Court will decide if homosexuals have the constitutional right to marry.

Jindal appeared on George Stephanopoulous’ This Week broadcast on Sunday morning. When he asked Jindal if he supported former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s suggestion that states should resist any Supreme Court ruling that paves the way for gay marriage, Jindal’s Christianity and practical mind went on display.

“I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. My faith teaches me that, my Christian faith teaches me that,” Jindal responded. “If the Supreme Court were to throw out our law, our constitutional amendment—I hope they wouldn’t do that—if they were to do that, I certainly will support Ted Cruz and others that are talking about making an amendment in the congress and D.C., a constitutional amendment to allow states to continue to define marriage.”
