The president warned Americans of “a very serious left-wing terror threat” tied to Antifa and other far-left extremists. He detailed several violent incidents targeting ICE agents, law enforcement and journalists. Among these, he cited attacks in Texas and Portland, including a sniper attack in Dallas and the high-profile assassination of Charlie Kirk by a far-left extremist. Trump described Antifa as a coordinated and well-funded movement, pointing to the uniformity and professional quality of protest signs as evidence of external backing.
Trump also acknowledged the courage of journalists who have been victims of Antifa violence, commending their resilience in the face of repeated assaults. He stressed that recent legal measures, such as a one-year penalty for inciting riots, aim to hold extremists accountable, particularly when actions like burning the American flag incite violence.
The president contrasted his administration’s approach with the previous administration, claiming that under prior leadership, “faithful Catholics, Christians, and patriotic parents” were unfairly targeted as domestic extremists. He pledged that under his guidance, not only would Antifa criminals be pursued, but also those funding their operations. Trump further praised Attorney General Pam Bondi for her work in exposing fraudulent political claims by certain senators, notably criticizing Sen. Richard Blumenthal for a “phony war record.”
