Pastor Ché Ahn is making a spiritual promise for the people of California if he is elected governor: A day dedicated to prayer and fasting.

“Why I’m running is because I want God to have mercy upon this state,” says Ahn. “Unless God intervenes, we’re going down. And so, the first thing I’m going to do when I’m governor [is] I’m going to call for a national day of prayer and fasting. I want to call all those who come together, humble ourselves and pray, seek His face…”

For Ahn, this principle of prayer and fasting is related to 2 Chronicles 7:14, which says, “ if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Ahn knows that the world won’t participate in this call for humility, but he still invites all to join together in seeking God’s will for a brighter future in California.
