In the Episcopal Church’s “Analysis of the 2024 Parochial Report Data,” it was noted that “This year’s report represents a significant departure from the previous annual publications, because the content of the report form changed significantly for 2024.”
The Episcopal Church noted that they changed the questions they asked churches for a “more complete picture.” As the Christian Post noted, the number of Episcopal Church members in 2023 was at 1.55 million while 2010’s membership number was 1.96 million. This number was not reported for 2024.
In the report, there were 6,707 missions and open parishes in 2024, 94.1% that submitted data for the 2024 Parochial Report. The denomination also reported 19,624 baptisms within the year 2024. According to the Christian Post, only 10 years prior the Episcopal Church had 28,000 baptisms in 2014.

This latest information comes as the Episcopal Church made headlines earlier in the year due to Episcopalian Bishop Marianne Edgar Budde’s controversial speech at the National Prayer Service when she criticized Trump for his stance on the LGBTQ community and illegal immigrants. As Charisma previously reported, Budde also pocketed $53 million of taxpayer dollars using the Episcopal Migration Ministries.
