Sean Feucht’s latest ministry trip to Canada turned into an international religious freedom flashpoint—complete with government crackdowns, Antifa disruption and a $2,500 fine for simply hosting a worship service.

I interviewed Feucht on The Strang Report on the Charisma Podcast Network about the shocking series of events that unfolded during his planned 11-city “Let Us Worship” tour from Halifax to Vancouver.

Feucht, who has led worship in some of the most dangerous and closed nations on earth, said the persecution he experienced in Canada surpassed what he’s faced in Iraq, Turkey or Mozambique. “We had permits, insurance—everything by the book,” he told me. “But starting in Halifax, local governments began revoking our permits under the excuse of ‘health and safety.’ In reality, it was pressure from LGBTQ activists. It set off a domino effect across the eastern half of our tour.”

The climax came in Montreal, where a local church opened its doors after the Quebec City event was canceled. “During the service, Antifa broke through police barricades, threw smoke bombs into the church and police fined the church $2,500 for hosting worship,” Feucht recounted. “Even non-Christians were shocked. It was a moment where people around the world said, ‘Are you kidding me?’”

The story went viral, trending higher than Donald Trump’s trip to Scotland and even celebrity gossip. Why? Feucht believes it’s because the blatant anti-Christian bias was undeniable. “Pro-Hamas protests are allowed. Naked bicycle parades are allowed. But worship in a church? That gets shut down.”

Feucht sees this not just as a political or cultural battle, but as a spiritual one. “This is Christophobia—bigotry against Christians—that’s institutionalized in government. It’s demonic,” he said. His next book, a yet-untitled work on spiritual warfare, is being written in real time as he lives through these events.

I pointed out that Canada has no equivalent to the U.S. Bill of Rights, and Feucht agreed that Christians there are facing a “line in the sand” moment. “Even non-Christian Members of Parliament are outraged. More than 100 churches have been burned in recent years. Canadians will have to fight for their religious freedom,” he warned.

But Feucht also offered encouragement: “God is using this to provoke a nationwide conversation about the right to worship. Darkness is covering the earth, but the glory of the Lord is rising.” He urged believers to “stay on God’s channel” and not be distracted by fear, slander or media attacks.

As I told him during the podcast, what’s happening in Canada could happen here if we’re not vigilant. We saw the same spirit at work during COVID-19 when officials used the pandemic to target churches.
