A powerful moment occurred when Pope Leo XIV and King Charles III joined together in prayer at the Vatican.
According to Reuters, this is the first time a British monarch and a Catholic pope have prayed together in a session since 1534. It is being dubbed as a “healing of history” to see these two global leaders come together in unity.

During the ceremony, King Charles was given a seat of honor in the Sistine Chapel, where the service was held. In this worship service, the pope prayed, “Oh God, make speed to save us.” Following along with the rest of the room, they prayed, “For you created all things, and by your will existed and were created. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning…”

Outside of the service, Charles presented Leo with a gift, stating, “Your Holiness, such a pleasure to meet you if I may say so…[This] comes as a small token of our esteemed appreciation.”
Charles is the head of the Church of England, which has recently come under controversy over the appointment of Sarah Mullally as the Archbishop of Canterbury, prompting significant division within the Anglican Church. Leo has also had a slew of his own controversial moments since assuming his role as the head of the Catholic Church, including the allowance of an LGBTQ group to carry a rainbow crucifix for the Jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Church and his blessing over a block of ice.
For many watching through the lens of Scripture, this moment carries prophetic weight far beyond diplomacy or symbolism. Is it possible that we are in the time when global elites will align in the final days, creating a false sense of peace and unity before deception? Are we one step closer to a one-world government and religion?
