Revival of a Forgotten Ministry

It is no secret that the ministry of casting out demons rarely happens in the modern church. For me, the confusing part about that is Jesus cast out demons everywhere He went!

If we truly are followers of Jesus Christ and are called to do the same things He did and even greater, then where has this ministry been!?

At the end of 2020, I had a visitation from the Holy Spirit where, in so many words, He told me, “Isaiah, the church is unprepared and untrained in spiritual warfare; I want you to teach on casting out demons and spiritual warfare.”

Of course, wanting to be obedient to the Holy Spirit, I said yes, I would begin to emphasize deliverance training and spiritual warfare. I thought this would be maybe a one-week teaching.

But it turned out to be eight straight months and over 60 hours of video teachings on how to cast out demons and win the fight in the spirit. These videos have now amassed over 30 million views.

The problem I began to see was people saying “There is no church in my area casting out demons, and I am in bondage!” This led me to develop a network of believers who were willing to take up the task of casting out demons from those who needed help.

We now lead an army of over 2,500 people on an interactive map we call the “deliverance network.” This is not an organization or just an established church. These ordinary believers decided they were tired of sitting on the bench and wanted to do the work Jesus did.

In 2020 and 2021, we saw thousands delivered by the power of the Holy Spirit—and I believe greater is coming in 2023.

In Matthew 10, Jesus commissioned 12 men to the task of casting out demons and healing those who were sick, “He called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease,” (v. 1). This was not a suggestion Jesus was making—He commanded them to do this. Fast forward to Luke 10, Jesus then commissions 72 disciples with the same task, and Luke 10:17 tells us the result: “The seventy-two returned with joy and said, ‘Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.’”

You might be asking, well, what does that have to do with me? In Mark 16, the calling to cast out demons is now extended to every believer. In fact, this is the first time we see the word believer, and Mark 16:17 shows us what we are called to do: “These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.”

It could not be more clear—if you’re a believer, you will cast out demons! In 2023, I believe God is calling every believer to step into this ancient ministry!

Let me return to my initial question. Why are we not seeing this in the church? Let me explain what I believe is the greatest hindrance to deliverance ministry.

There is the idea among some in the body of Christ that talking about demons or casting them out would somehow bring glory to Satan and his territory. But let’s make sure to keep one key detail straight for all time—the only kingdom that is glorified when casting out demons is God’s.

Look at what Jesus said in Luke 11:20 (NLT), “But if I am casting out demons by the power of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.” How incredible is this!

We learn two things here. The casting out of demons only happens by taking hold of the supernatural power of God. And then we further discover that deliverance happens with the arrival of God’s kingdom.

I think it’s safe to say that the church and believers around the world are desperately in need of God’s power and His arrival today.

The Bible does not tell us to ignore Satan’s kingdom. It says to confront, resist, wrestle, stand against and cast out.

If you’re tired of sitting on the sidelines and ready to do the works of Jesus, I believe 2023 will be the most significant deliverance revival the world has ever seen.
