Our beloved Mary Poppins suggested that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Well, I’m here to suggest that adding a little bit of sweetener can help us swallow a lot more conflict than just the taste of bitter medicine.
How do you feel when I use the term “75% off sale?” Pretty good, hey?
You could say, “it just stirred me up.” But what if I throw out the term “racial tension”? Not so good, huh? But these are the very issues we’re called to tackle as children and kingdom representatives of a God who deeply values social justice. It’s all over the Bible. We can’t ignore it anymore because the people we’re called to serve aren’t.
The people we’re called to reconcile to Jesus aren’t. It’s about the time the church started having practical answers for the questions the world is blindly asking instead of pretending we heard the call of Jesus by merely sitting in a pew once a week. We walk daily with the God of creativity. How about we find some creative answers to the hurt the world is in?
On this episode of Coach & Joe on the Charisma Podcast Network, Chad Norris sits down with titans of the modern prayer movement Will Ford, Matt Lockett and Mike Thornton to add some sugar to the topic of racial reconciliation as well as some genuine solutions on how we can alleviate the pain we see around us. You can bet this episode will be silly. But you can also bet it will be powerful. {eoa}
