WikiLeaks: DNC and CNN Colluded on Even More Questions

Donald Trump and Wolf Blitzer

CNN President Jeff Zucker said he was outraged by the revelations that interim DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile—while employed by his network—shared questions it was going to ask during a presidential debate with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

You have to wonder what he’s thinking now. Two separate emails released over the weekend by WikiLeaks suggest CNN got help with questions for upcoming interviews with Republican Party presidential candidates from DNC staffers engaged in opposition research.

The emails, from DNC Research Director Lauren Dillon, indicate questions were suggested for upcoming interviews with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina. Among the questions suggested for the Trump interview:

  • Who helped you write the foreign policy speech you’re giving tomorrow?
  • Which advisers specifically did you talk to?
  • What advice did they give you?
  • Did they give you any advice that you chose not to take?

The Trump interview was eventually canceled, but the questions were kept for “a future interview.”

WikiLeaks dumped 8,263 new hacked DNC emails Sunday evening. The first batch, released in July, led to turmoil for the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and the resignation of DNC Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.).
