Wife of Former SEAL Killed at Benghazi Unloads on Hillary Clinton

Dorothy Woods

Earlier this week, the father of former U.S. Navy SEAL Tyrone “Rone” Woods announced he was endorsing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Thursday morning, Rone’s widow, Dorothy, weighed in on the presidential campaign, as well.

Appearing on the nationally syndicated Hugh Hewitt Show, she weighed in on the current controversies surrounding the GOP nominee—defending him from much of that criticism—as well as her thoughts about his Democratic counterpart, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. And while she stopped short of offering an endorsement, she certainly made it clear how she will be voting in November.

“I realize sometimes that we all have the best intentions, and that we make mistakes,” she said. “I teach my 4-year-old son to admit when you’re wrong, to say you’re sorry, and how are you going to fix it. To be honest with you, Hugh, if Hillary Clinton had done these three things regarding Benghazi, I wouldn’t be talking to you today.”

But, because Clinton has refused to do that, Woods said she “cannot, fundamentally, be our commander-in-chief.” She also said she didn’t believe the former secretary of state necessarily needed to “win back” her trust.

“There are many people who, you know, are waiting and looking and watching her,” she said. “I don’t, personally, I don’t need her trust. She doesn’t need to win my trust. I’m just kind of a cog in the wheel. I think that her actions, the support of what she does, speak louder than her words. And that’s really what you need to do.”

Scroll down to hear the entire interview. In it, Woods also weighed in on the Khan family’s appearance at the Democratic National Convention, as well as the veteran who gave Donald Trump his Purple Heart Medal.
