Dr. David Kyle Foster says those who advocate for homosexuality often use several common arguments: “Jesus’ love covers my ongoing gay sex,” “Jesus never mentioned homosexuality,” “Jesus didn’t change me when I asked Him to” and “I was born this way.”
But Dr. Michael Brown says these statements are highly misleading.
“It’s very complex, but again, there is no biological evidence of any kind that someone is ‘born gay,'” Brown says on Foster’s “Pure Passion Podcast.” “However, in many cases, the homosexual attraction is very deep-seated in someone’s life so that as far back as they can remember, they felt different as a little kid, even before they were sexually active.”
Brown says he’s heard of many people who have cried themselves to sleep at night asking Jesus to take away their desires, and He didn’t. But does that mean He affirms those attractions and behaviors?
