Tony Evans has officially handed over Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship to his son, Jonathan.
On Dec. 7, Jonathan Evans was commissioned as the new pastor of the megachurch, with Dr. Tony Evans delivering a message before the installation about Moses and the people of God entering the Promised Land.
“We know it has been a challenging year, but the good news is God waste nothing. I am very, very grateful for the family of Oak Cliff and how much you have meant to me, allowed me the privilege of loving you…’m grateful for this moment, this moment of installation and transition and the opportunity to be a a part of it,” Tony Evans said.
Dr. Martin Hawkins then appointed Jonathan Evans as the new lead pastor of Oak Cliff Fellowship.
“God called Jonathan,” Hawkins stated. “Thank God though you had a father that was a pastor that had time and took the time with you and we can see you here now.“
Charging Jonathan with 1 Corinthians 15:58, “to be steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord,” Hawkins advised Jonathan to seek God first, not success.
Now that the mantle has been passed at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, we will see what God has in store for this next generation of believers.
