This Will Allow Ungodly, Progressive Liberals to Take Over Our Country

When thinking about what God might be up to in America, we learn from Scripture that “God is in no hurry in the working of His plans. Man may fret and fume, hurry and bustle, but Jehovah has all eternity at His disposal and works leisurely and with deliberation.” (A.W. Pink, Gleanings in Genesis)

And His works are good, for “The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; by His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.” (Prov. 3:19-20).

Dr. Bruce K. Waltke, the foremost living authority on the wisdom literature in the Old Testament, clarifies that “By wisdom with reference to the creation is meant the immeasurable weights of wind and of sea, the trackless ways of lightning, and the complexities of the ecology. None can understand what is wise unless one understands the whole, as Solomon, Agur and the editor of Job knew.”

Waltke continues, “If the Lord with wisdom as his tool accomplished the wonders of the various phases of creation—setting the earth on its foundations by splitting the primeval waters and setting the heavens in their appointed place and watering the earth with dew from its clouds—think what his revealed wisdom will do for those who find it.”

Public education, however, bids no welcome to God’s wisdom. We would be deeply mistaken to believe that what’s happening in America only has to do with Democrat versus Republican.

Which brings us to the battle for the public square, and to Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court. Putting on airs last week in Boston, Senator Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., professed that he was troubled by Kavanaugh’s behavior before the Senate Judiciary Committee. “The interaction [by Kavanaugh] with the members was sharp and partisan and that concerns me.”

Being accused of sexual assault, “spiking” punch at parties and organizing to “gang rape” girls and so on, was Judge Kavanaugh somehow supposed to be serene and composed? It simply boggles the mind to suggest that Judge Kavanaugh would go along to get along with the pernicious high-tech foul play by malicious Democratic senators. Senator Flake must be living in an alternate universe of his own making.

The Boston event, where Flake bestowed his sterile scrutiny, was cosponsored by NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts and the ACLU of Massachusetts. What was he doing there? The Wall Street Journal reported that he was invited “to talk about the future of the Republican Party.” It’s reassuring to know that NARAL and the ACLU are concerned about the future of the Republican Party.

Anyone blessed with a little bit of insight will recognize that the battle in the Senate Judiciary Committee is of a spiritual nature. It is a battle between the false god of secularism and God Jehovah.

Dr. James Dobson said:

Shirley and I have been praying urgently for weeks about the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, and for his wife Ashley and their precious daughters. I’m sure millions of other Christians are doing the same. We’re asking the Lord during the day and into the night to defeat the schemes of those who clearly want to destroy this great nation. I’m not accusing Dr. Ford of anything. She might remember the ghosts of her past, though the facts appear to contradict her description of them. But something else is going on here. At its core, this isn’t just another political conflict. Swirling around us is a life-and-death struggle for the soul of America. It is a profound spiritual battle that touches something deep within me. We are left with an agonized prayer: “God, please help us.”

Regarding the baneful seeds of discord as sown by Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, former Speaker Newt Gingrich referred to Abraham Lincoln’s Cooper Union speech. “Your purpose, then, plainly stated, is that you will destroy the Government, unless you be allowed to construe and enforce the Constitution as you please, on all points in dispute between you and us. You will rule or ruin in all events.”

Considered one of the most important speeches in American history, the Cooper Union speech is deemed to have clinched Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 presidential election victory.

Here is another example of “rule or ruin”. In making the perfidious distinction between “baby parts” and “tissue,” Senate secularists compromise inside the Beltway on killing babies, only to run back to their districts declaring their opposition to Planned Parenthood.

Freedom talk is not enough; there is no ‘right’ to be free. For evangelical and pro-life Catholic Christians, “freedom has to be won, worked at and sustained, and for that to happen, it needs to be understood” (Os Guinness, Last Call for Liberty).

Organizing, not speaking, secures victory in the public square. We have been granted a short reprieve. Evangelical pastors and the occupants of their pews will have to take their game to the next level if America is to survive. There surely can be no misunderstanding of this, given what is happening right now.

Following the Nov. 6, 2018, election, somebody’s values are going to be represented in the public square. If evangelical and pro-life Catholic Christians stay home on Election Day, it goes without saying that it will allow ungodly, progressive liberals, by electing their representatives, to impose their secularist values on this once biblically-based culture and nation, and turn them into law.
