Protecting American lives is far from the U.S. government’s top agenda, Curves Chairman Gary Heavin tells Jim Bakker.  

“The human mind has a survival mechanism, and it’s called a normalcy bias,” Heavin says. “When we are threatened with something, the greater the threat, the more we resist acknowledging the evidence.” 

Thus, when Americans hear bad news about their government or come across disheartening information about leaders, they drift into the normalcy bias. This can trigger devastating results.
