Originally from New Zealand, The Lads (Mark Millard, Bjorn Bennett and Steve King) have been playing music together for 10 years. When they moved to the U.S. in 2004, they realized that God was redirecting their music ministry to focus specifically on pre-teens.
Their new, self-titled album includes songs uniquely communicating God’s truth. “Cable Knit Sweater” reminds us that He knit us together with specific plans and purposes for our lives. “International Mystery Man” offers a new perspective on who Jesus is. The Lads also give their special spin on worship favorites “Amazing Love” and “Sometimes By Step.”
The Lads, who have a CD and a comic book, are determined to entertain their audiences with live shows full of energy and interaction. Just glancing at their comic book and browsing their Web site (theladsband.com), it’s obvious these guys have a quirky sense of humor but also a passion for Christ. This combination will make them especially appealing to the pre-teen crowd. But more importantly they want to relate to pre-teens with their lyrics and their personal testimonies about the transforming truth of God’s Word.
