Spirit-filled artist Matt Tommey says if you’ve been an artist for any amount of time, you’ve likely found that most people don’t get you or how you think.
On his “The Thriving Christian Artist” podcast, Tommey answers the question: What if your church isn’t ready for prophetic art?
“Realize that all of your validation and all of your understanding of who you are and the validation that you get as an artist does not have to come from your church,” he says. “A lot of times, that’s a new concept for people. … The larger story of that is in the church and Christianity in general, especially in the West, is that we do not have a culture of creativity and of art in the context of worship.”
