You can find a lot on Craigslist—even band members. When frontman Geoff Hunker moved to Nashville, Tenn., he was ready to form a band and turned to Craigslist for help. “I just put up an ad looking for guitar, bass and drums to just see what happened,” Hunker says on the band’s Web site. “Probably 80 percent of the stuff that came out of it was just absolutely horrible.”
But from the good rose drummer Jonathan Dimmel, and he brought on board guitarist David Troyer and Brandon Owens on bass and synthesizer (yes, synthesizer). Even though the guys don’t have a long history together, they have become close friends. “A lot of bands don’t have that,” Dimmel says. “Especially when they don’t go back further than, you know, two years off Craigslist.”
Late last year, the group released All We Need Is Sound and Breaking the Noise extended-play albums. And now they’re here in full force with their self-titled debut. This four-piece band incorporates sounds from the ’80s into its rock songs that will continually directs listeners’ focus to Jesus. “We have been dreaming about this day for a long time. We wrote much of the album centered on the theme of relationships and our anchor in Jesus Christ,” Hunker says.
“It is vital to each of us band members to cultivate relationships with those who connect with our music. We look forward to playing these songs live and meeting people around the country.”
The band will start connecting even more as they join Disciple and Decyfer Down for the Blood, Sweat & Rock ‘n’ Roll tour.
