Romantic Comedy Actor Hugh Grant All-Out Mocks Biblical Marriage

Actor Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant has described marriage as “unromantic” and said casual affairs keep marriages together.

The British actor, well known for his roles in romantic comedies, made the comments during an interview with controversial radio host Howard Stern.

Grant is currently promoting his latest film in the U.S. and admitted he likes the fact that his married character has a mistress.

Affairs

The actor said having affairs but not boasting about them keeps “marriages together.”

“If you ask me the question, do I think human beings are meant to be in 40-year-long monogamous, faithful relationships—no.

“Whoever said they were? Only the Bible or something. No one’s ever said that’s a good idea.”

Grant added: “I think there’s something unromantic about marriage. You’re closing yourself off”.

‘Annoyingly good’

However, he did admit his brother is “really happy” in what he called his “annoyingly good marriage”.

The 55-year-old has never been married, but has four children.
