Politicians Put Aside Divisions to Lift Fellow Congressman Up in Prayer

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise

While some may believe a “thoughts and prayers” comment may be trite, the Bible teaches us our words have power.

Jeremiah 33:3 proclaims: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”

As surgeons perform emergency surgery on Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., dozens of his fellow Congressmen are lifting him up in the name of Jesus.

Here’s what some of them are saying:

“America is praying for you and America is praying for all of the victims,” President Donald Trump.

“Karen & I are praying for  the Capitol Police, & all hurt for a speedy recovery. Our hearts are with them & their loved ones,” Vice President Mike Pence.

“Saddened by news of the shooting in VA this am. Thoughts & prayers for Rep & others injured & hope for a speedy recovery,” Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY.
