The book of Revelation is full of visions and symbols that are difficult to understand. But there are also pictures, artist and teacher Debby Topliff says, and she had the idea to paint the images described by John. She admits that she is not a trained artist but decided to create the painting “even if it looks like a 7-year-old did it.”
Painting Revelation: A Visual Exploration of the Last Book of the Bible is a study based on 29 scenes from the Bible as depicted on a 5-by-7 canvas. The artistry is primitive and simple, but viewers will be captivated by Topliff’s soft-spoken personality. In the introductions before each of the five sessions, she shares lessons from everyday life, and people will sense her love for the Lord and appreciate her desire to help others better understand the Bible. For the Bible lessons, viewers join Topliff in her studio as she teaches while standing in front of her painting.
This 45-minute DVD is appropriate for children and adults, new or long-time Christians. Also included are a six-week study with leader’s guide, questions, charts, worksheets and more.
