In a newly released video, YouTuber and pastor Marcus Rogers sat down with Joni Lamb to share her side of the story, addressing recent allegations made against her and Daystar.
Rogers first brings up the allegations that an unnamed family member going by “Pete” abused Jonathan and Suzy Lamb’s young daughter during a retreat. Joni Lamb says her granddaughter was inappropriately touched by a boy at school, but that the incident during the family vacation has been stretched into something different than reality.
“In 2020, there was an incident that took place at my granddaughter’s school,” Lamb says. “Suzy called me and she said, ‘Will you go down to the school with me?’ I said, ‘absolutely,’ so we went together to the school, we reported it to the school. My granddaughter had told her mother that a little boy had touched her and her friend inappropriately.
“Suzy had asked me to ask her what happened, and so I did, but my granddaughter didn’t want to talk, so I didn’t push it, but I was fully supportive of her,” she continues.
Lamb says the family retreat in question took place the following year in 2021. She says her grandson was talking about the city view he had in his bunk room on the vacation. Lamb states that “Pete” was holding his one-year-old child and went upstairs with her grandson to go and see the view from the window. She says during this time, her granddaughter went upstairs to go change into her swimsuit, and that Suzy then directed Jonathan to go and check on their daughter.

“My son went running up the stairs, and when he did, he saw that his daughter was putting on the bathing suit and ‘Pete’ was standing there holding a one-year-old baby and my eight-year-old grandson was there and they were looking out the window at the city view,” she says.
Lamb says Jonathan asked “Pete” what he was doing in the room while his daughter was changing, and “Pete” apologized. Lamb says her late husband, Marcus, called a family meeting and the matter was discussed.
“We …realized there was nothing that happened,” she says. “‘Pete’ said, ‘I’m so sorry, I didn’t know she was putting on her bathing suit.'”
Lamb notes that previous reporting has left out the fact that “Pete” was with her grandson and holding a baby when her granddaughter went to change clothes. She also states that the narrative about “Pete” being in a bathroom at the same time as the granddaughter during their 2020 vacation has also been misleading as well. While her granddaughter had opened the door to the bathroom while “Pete” was in the shower, Lamb says her granddaughter did not walk all the way into the room and “Pete” raised his voice so that she would know he was in there, not to come in.
“When he got out, he immediately went to Suzy and said, ‘Hey, she walked in on me,'” Lamb recounts, stating that Suzy did not worry about the situation. She also says that during the 2022 vacation “Pete” came to her privately, asking that the kids not be placed near him because of what happened the prior year while the granddaughter was changing into her swimsuit.
Lamb also says that it is a lie that “Pete’s” polygraph test was administered by her husband, Doug Weiss.
“This was a forensic polygrapher that would actually deal with pedophiles,” Lamb says.
“Pete” was cleared by the polygrapher, scoring 99.5%, according to Lamb.
Rogers also asked Lamb about questions regarding her marriage to Doug Weiss and what happened at Daystar with Jonathan and Suzy. She asserts that she received counsel from many godly people about her relationship with Doug, and that it was Jonathan who gave Doug the blessing for the two of them to get married. She says it was when she spoke to Suzy about Doug co-hosting with her that things started to shift with her son and daughter-in-law.
“The difference was they found out Doug was going to co-host with me,” Lamb says. “It wouldn’t have changed their role at all. They still would’ve been at the top of the show, they would still host from time to time, they were doing a show called ‘The Green Room’; they still would’ve done that.”
Lamb says after she and Weiss returned from their honeymoon, a viewer left a comment congratulating her on her marriage to Doug. She says one of her producers came to her, stating that Jonathan and Suzy were refusing to read the comment.
“They somehow believed that, if they read somebody else’s comment, that’s representing their view, and they didn’t want to do it,” Lamb says.
Touching on the leaked audio, Lamb further addressed the comments over her “voice of God” statement.
“I’m not the voice of God,” Lamb says. “I’m the voice of Joni…Jimmy was just making an analogy that I am the voice of authority at Daystar, and that I would have the final say…he was saying if you can’t submit to the authority that God has placed you under, then you just need to move yourself out from under that authority.
“We couldn’t come to a resolution, so they weren’t on the show. She wasn’t working; we kept paying her for months and months and months. My son was still here, working in that capacity, but we’re still trying to work things out. He hired an attorney to say we were infringing on their religious beliefs, and so we said if there’s a card that you take issue with, you don’t have to read it,” she continues.
Lamb says that when Jonathan was ready to come back, he wanted a contract that stated he would be president of Daystar. She claims he attempted to use the audio file from their private meeting as blackmail to be given the position.
“[We] want you to reinstate us, but we want a contract that says Jonathan’s…going to be president, and that no matter what, that’s ironclad. He’s going to be president, and I can’t even change my mind if for some reason I feel like he’s not fit to be president…basically: ‘If you do everything we are saying, then I won’t play or leak the audio of the private meeting that I recorded.'”
Lamb further addressed the narrative about tracking systems on company cars, stating the cars do have the tracking system on them, but personal cars do not.
“There was also some verbal abuse that was happening to some of my prayer partners that I didn’t know about,” Lamb says. “I start finding out all this stuff and so our COO…I sent him, I said, ‘Go find out what’s going on; let’s straighten that out. We had to remove her dad from [being] over the prayer department because of so many complaints. I lost four really good people, and once we removed him, they all came back.”
Right now, Lamb asks for viewers to pray for her son, daughter-in-law and her grandchildren.
“Pray for God to do a work of healing and restoration.”
