I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. —Psalm 69:2

Over the course of time rivers often change course. Where a mighty river once coursed, only stagnating pools of water remain.

Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). He was speaking about believers who would be carried along in the power of the Holy Spirit.

David cried out to God, “Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink” (Psalm 69:14). Resolve to keep your spiritual river from turning into a swamp, and be ever ready to move in the power of the Holy Ghost.

As we observe in Ezekiel 47, the river of God first flows to our ankles, covering our spiritual walk. It then rises to our knees, covering our prayer lives. The river then flows to our waists, speaking of our service and finally becomes so deep that we must swim in the river, allowing it to take us with its flow. Decide today to become totally immersed in the river of God.

River of God, flow into, through, and out
of me. River of God, immerse me and
take me by Your current into Your
perfect plan and future. Amen.
