When Facebook deleted Christian actor Kevin Sorbo’s page, the giant tech conglomerate said it was because he was spreading debunked information about COVID-19. They also claimed to have given him two fair warnings before pulling the plug on his account.
“That’s not true,” Sorbo says.
On this episode of Faith Works podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network, Sorbo shares a different version of the story—one in which he took down every post Facebook asked him to yet was still punished.
“I had one warning from them two and a half weeks ago, and they said, ‘You have until March 15 to take down these sites. Otherwise, we’re going to [delete] your [page],'” Sorbo says. “So I took those two sites down, and they still took me down. It has nothing to do with what I say. They want to get rid of me because I’m a conservative, and I’m a Christian. They want to get rid of all of us.”
This isn’t the first time Facebook has penalized Sorbo for his conservative values.
“They’ve been shadow-banning me anyway,” he says. “I used to get 50,000 to 200,000 likes on every post, and they were keeping it below 10,000 on purpose. And they admitted to it! They said, ‘We’re limiting the people who can see your posts.’ I kept trying to email them to talk to somebody, and then they just took me down.”
