Every generation has its share of strange mysteries. But occasionally one emerges that captures the public imagination in ways that feel almost surreal.

That is what happened when a recent story in the New York Post reignited one of the internet’s most unusual questions: Is President Donald Trump somehow connected to time travel?

It sounds like science fiction. Yet the conversation has exploded across social media after researchers revisited a series of century-old drawings, uncanny parallels to a nineteenth-century literary mystery, and historical connections involving legendary inventor Nikola Tesla.

While most historians dismiss these seeming disparate threads as coincidence, the phenomenon itself reveals something deeper: a growing fascination with the strange historical patterns surrounding the Trump presidency as I explored in The Trump Code: Exploring Time Travel, Nikola Tesla, the Trump Lineage, and America’s Future.

And for many observers, the mystery touches on a larger question about providence, prophecy, and the direction of history itself.

The 100-Year-Old Drawings That Sparked the Buzz

The latest round of speculation began when internet researchers rediscovered the work of Charles Dellschau, a Prussian-born artist who lived in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Dellschau created hundreds of elaborate sketches depicting strange flying machines he called “aeros.” These craft looked like something out of a steampunk novel—part balloon, part airplane and powered by a mysterious substance he labeled “NB Gas,” an “anti-gravity” fuel.

But what caught the attention of conspiracy theorists was not just the futuristic aircraft.

Some of Dellschau’s sketches appeared to contain the word “TRUMP.” Others allegedly show a blond figure steering a craft labeled “45,” the number of Trump’s first presidency.

Online forums immediately lit up with speculation that the drawings were somehow predicting the future.

Historians say such interpretations are almost certainly reading modern meaning into old artwork. Yet the discovery quickly revived another mystery that has fascinated internet researchers for years.

The Strange Case of the “Baron Trump” Books

In the late 1800s, American author Ingersoll Lockwood wrote a series of novels featuring a wealthy young protagonist named Baron Trump.

In the stories, Baron—whose image on the cover of The Baron Trump Collection looks strikingly like Trump’s son, Barron Trump—lives in “Castle Trump” and embarks on bizarre time traveling adventures guided by a mentor named Don Fum, the “great master of all masters.”

The last in the series of Lockwood novels, The Last President, describes a chaotic election that sparks riots in New York City—including disturbances around Fifth Avenue, where Trump Tower now stands.

The books even reference a cabinet official named Pence, the same name as Trump’s first vice president, Mike Pence.

Coincidence? For many, yes. But the similarities have captivated readers who see the parallels as almost eerie.

These unusual connections became one of the central mysteries explored in my investigative book The Trump Code.

The book examines whether the strange parallels between Lockwood’s novels and modern events might point to something deeper about the way history unfolds.

Not necessarily time travel—but the possibility that history itself sometimes moves in patterns we do not fully understand, as I’ve explored in a series of books over the last decade examining the link between current events and biblical prophecies.

Tesla, the Trump Family, and the Science-Fiction Factor

Adding another twist to the story is a historical connection involving Nikola Tesla, the brilliant inventor whose experiments pushed the boundaries of physics.

When Tesla died in 1943, the U.S. government seized his research papers. They were later reviewed by John G. Trump, a respected Massachusetts Institute of Technology physicist—and Donald Trump’s uncle.

Tesla explored revolutionary ideas involving energy transmission, electromagnetism, and advanced propulsion systems decades ahead of his time.

While there is no credible evidence that Tesla discovered time travel, conspiracy theorists speculate that some of his work may have explored concepts related to time manipulation or gravity control, ideas the government may have used to develop advanced technologies the public is unaware of.

Combine that with the strange Lockwood novels and the Dellschau sketches, and the internet quickly constructed a narrative that sounds like the plot of a Hollywood movie.

Even some of Trump’s own comments have fueled speculation.

“I know things that other people don’t know,” Trump has remarked on several occasions—words that have since circulated endlessly online, suggesting he possesses superior knowledge, insider information, or a better understanding of complex situations than experts, intelligence officials, or the public.

Why Trump Inspires So Many Theories

Whether one views these connections as coincidences or curiosities, the fascination itself reveals something important.

Trump has become one of the most mythologized political figures of the modern era.

Supporters see him as a disruptive leader challenging the deep state, globalism, and widespread corruption and tyranny throughout the world. Critics view him as a polarizing force reshaping global politics, threatening the establishment and “democracy.”

But either way, the Trump era has produced an extraordinary sense that history is accelerating toward the prophetic events described in the Bible.

In my latest book Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival, the follow-up to The Trump Code, I explore how unexpected leaders often emerge during moments of profound cultural upheaval, serving as catalysts for revival and national reformation.

The Bible itself is filled with examples of unlikely figures whom God used to reshape history.

King Cyrus of Persia—who did not belong to Israel—was nevertheless called “God’s anointed” because he helped restore the Jewish people to their homeland (Isaiah 45:1).

Throughout The Bible, God frequently worked through unexpected vessels. Imperfect people. Outsiders. Disrupters.

In that sense, the fascination surrounding Trump may say less about time travel and more about humanity’s search for meaning during turbulent times.

The Real Mystery: Providence or Coincidence?

For Christians, the real question is not whether anyone can travel through time, although there are stories in the Bible, especially involving the prophets and the Apostle John, which raise questions about how God showed them the future.

The deeper question is whether divine providence guides history itself. The Bible reminds us that God governs the rise and fall of leaders.

“He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings,” the prophet Daniel wrote (Daniel 2:21).

When the world experiences political upheaval, economic turmoil, and cultural transformation all at once, people begin looking for patterns—clues that history may be moving toward something significant.

Sometimes those clues appear mysterious. Sometimes they appear prophetic. And sometimes they are simply coincidences that capture the imagination.

A Culture Searching for Meaning

Even members of the Trump family have brushed aside the time-travel theory. When asked about it, Trump’s granddaughter Kai Trump laughed and said she had no interest in exploring those “rabbit holes.”

Yet the viral fascination with the idea reveals something deeper about our moment in history. We are living in an era when technology, geopolitics, and spiritual questions are colliding at breathtaking speed.

Artificial intelligence is transforming society. Space exploration is accelerating. Quantum physics is reshaping our understanding of reality itself.

At the same time, millions of people are asking deeper questions about faith, their purpose in life, and the future of civilization.

That is why theories about time travel, prophecy and hidden history resonate so widely. They reflect a deeper longing to understand where humanity is headed.

The Story Still Being Written

Whether the Dellschau drawings or the Lockwood novels tell us something about the future remains an open question.

But one thing is certain. The Trump era has sparked an extraordinary level of cultural fascination—about politics, prophecy, history, and speculation in ways few presidencies ever have.

Time traveler or not, Trump’s place in the story of modern history is already secure. And if the internet’s latest theory proves anything, it is this: People around the world sense that we may be living through one of the most pivotal moments in history.

The question is not whether someone has cracked the secret of time travel. The question is whether humanity will recognize the deeper forces shaping our future before time runs out on God’s prophetic time clock.
