At a campaign event in Texas on Friday morning, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joined Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump. At the event, he offered his enthusiastic endorsement for the New York businessman.
“Donald is a leader. He is a successful person that, like me, isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. Our system is broken and it won’t be fixed from the inside. I am proud to offer my endorsement of his candidacy for President.”
Prior to the event, Christie met with the media and further expounded on his support for Trump:
“The best person to beat Hillary Clinton in November on that stage last night is undoubtedly Donald Trump. They do not know the playbook with Donald Trump because he is rewriting the playbook.”
During the event, Christie also pledged to lend his support “in every way” for the GOP front-runner. Trump, for his part, said Christie’s endorsement was the one he coveted most.
“It is my great honor to receive the endorsement of the Governor,” he said. “We have had a wonderful relationship for many years. He is a solid person that I have tremendous respect for. I am really proud to receive the support of the Governor and his family.”
