When Dr. Haywood Robinson became a Christian in 1986, he went from abortion provider to pro-life advocate. Now, he celebrates a new milestone by joining 40 Days for Life, the pro-life organization that made historical waves in their most recent spring campaign, as the director of medical affairs and education.
“For more than 30 years, I’ve had a front-row view of the advances taking place both in the pro-life movement and in the medical field that continues to prove the undebatable value of life inside the womb,” said Robinson. “With great admiration, I’ve seen how 40 Days for Life’s powerful approach to the abortion conversation has saved thousands of lives and empowered many in the abortion industry to leave the field.”
A California native, Robinson attended undergraduate and medical school in Southern California and went on to do his residency in family practice at Martin Luther King/Charles R. Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.
“Dr. Robinson’s powerful shift in joining the pro-life movement serves as a reminder of why we continue to fight for life,” said Shawn Carney, president and CEO of 40 Days for Life. “Knowing the reality of how abortion kills innocent lives, we cannot sit idly by and do nothing to help; his life is a great example of the passionate response we should all have if our hearts have been moved by the tragedy of abortion.”
40 Days for Life holds biannual community-based campaigns that organize peaceful prayer vigils outside abortion facilities around the world; the organization’s efforts have helped 190 workers in the abortion industry to leave their posts. The fall campaign, expected to be its largest yet, begins Sept. 25.
