In a new film based on Jonathan Cahn’s book, The Dragon’s Prophecy, Dinesh D’Souza takes on one of the most contentious issues of our time—the war between Israel and the Palestinians.
One of the film’s central themes is Cahn’s argument that today’s struggle is a replay of the ancient battles between Israel and the Philistines. The parallels between modern and ancient times, D’Souza explains, are striking. In Scripture, the Philistines inhabited Gaza, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron—precisely the region where modern hostilities are erupting. Even the names “Philistine” and “Palestine” echo one another, especially in Arabic.

D’Souza highlights the biblical account of Samson, Israel’s strongest judge, who was captured and dragged to Gaza. This, D’Souza notes, is what Cahn describes as “the first hostage of Gaza,” a chilling image that calls to mind the events of Oct. 7, 2023 and the ongoing hostage crisis in Israel. Just as the Philistines once launched arrows from the sky, Hamas has turned to rockets and airborne attacks, forcing Israel’s reliance on the Iron Dome.
