Rebecca Bloomwood loves shopping but often gets in over her head with her outrageous purchases. The aspiring journalist dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, but has to settle for a job as a columnist for a financial magazine—which, coincidentally, also publishes her favorite fashion guide. While this reckless shopper offers readers financial advice in her column, she stays busy avoiding a persistent debt collector.
Things get even more complicated when she starts to fall in love with her boss and resorts to extreme measures to keep him from finding out the truth about her finances.
This film is based on the books Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella. Rated PG for mild language, it’s bound to be an enjoyable film for a ladies night in.
