Have you felt recently pretty overwhelmed by what you are walking through in this season? Or maybe you have felt a little discouraged by the amount of time it is taking to see that promise you are contending for fulfilled?
Since I am a seer, the Lord shows me visions of what is happening across the earth. I should share that not always do I get global pictures, but more often, for individuals. Recently however, Jesus took me above the earth to see what was happening globally.
I was taken into a prophetic vision, and I was sitting with Jesus looking down over the earth below. He said to me, “Look, I want to show you what’s happening all over the world right now.”
What Is the Enemy’s Strategy in This Season?
As I looked down, I could see these horrible little demonic creatures being released all across the world. Every nation was being touched by these demons. Jesus read my thoughts and immediately responded to them. “The enemy has assigned specific demons to be released over the earth right now. They are wrecking My people with discouragement over their assignment for this season. Many are losing hope right now, feeling like, “What is the point of all that I am doing?’ These assaults from the enemy are bringing a feeling of purposelessness across the body. The enemy is releasing spirits of chaos, and many are losing their ability to focus and also hear My voice. Distraction and confusion are being loosed into the atmosphere right now. Many are feeling overwhelmed and even feeling like quitting. Feeling overwhelmed right now is actually a spiritual attack.”
Then I saw that there were specific targets of the enemy on pastors, prophets and evangelists. If you find yourself in one of these categories, have you recently felt discouraged in the ministry and even in your personal life? It can feel like there is almost too much for you to handle it all right now, and you can feel like you are suffocating in busyness and the heaviness of the ministry. Would you believe this is because a target of the enemy has been placed on you? Rest assured, you are not alone in feeling this way. I have spoken to many leaders across the world who are feeling this in this season. It’s a direct attack on your mantle in the kingdom. As you feel suffocated, you are paralyzed in taking back land from the enemy.
The Place of Safety, Refuge and Protection
Our present state as a church is not lacking an overflow of the pouring out of Holy Spirit. God is bursting out everywhere, as we are in the greatest harvest time on the earth, and He wants to be displayed in His fullness. Right now, however, our greatest lack as a whole is the ability to Find Him, to find Jesus in the midst of politically what is taking place over the world, to find Him in the middle of everything that’s trying to pull our attention and focus away from Jesus and in the chaotic swirl you may find yourself in today even on a personal level. God is drawing us back to the place of being able to be still with Him. Isn’t it funny how people with whom you are the most intimate don’t always have to talk but can just sit with and be quiet together? There is a drawing from the Father right now: “Come back to the place of intimate encounter with my heart. Let’s just be together.”
In Mark 4, as the disciples are besides themselves caught in a horrible storm in the middle of the ocean on a boat, Jesus is found sleeping. Can you imagine? The boat is filling up with water, and the desperate disciples wake Jesus up: “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” (Mark 4:38b).
Jesus stands up, rebukes the wind, turns to the sea and says, “Peace, be still.” Then turning to his disciples, he says to them “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” (Mark 4:40).
Will we be a people whose faith is unwavering, although we can’t see the solutions right now? He is with you in the unknown places.
‘It’s Birthing Time!’
My husband and I are in the middle of a total house renovation right now. One day as I was there in 2-degree cold weather, and I was sitting on the floor picking out nail by nail with tweezers, I began to bless the Lord with each nail. I thought, “I better praise God right now, or I’ll end up crying through this painstaking process.”
Just then, right before my eyes, I saw Jesus looking at me. With my eyes wide open, I was having an open vision of the Lord. There He was, down scrubbing the floor, sweat dripping down his forehead. “I am here with you right now, right here. Time to muscle up,” He said back to me.
He didn’t say that He would take the hard work away, but rather, He reminded me that He is right there, right beside us through it all. We are in birthing pains right now. Any woman who has been through labor with a child (unless they have a supernatural one) knows there is that point of feeling like, “I just can’t keep going. Will this promise ever come? Will this season of pain lift? Can I even do this?”
That’s exactly where we are at right now as a church. You are in the birthing pains of something great that is coming. Don’t you break down now and quit! The Lord wouldn’t give you more than you can handle, but it will be challenging. Our faith muscles are being stretched now to the fullest. You will grow exponentially in this season as you press into Him and not your own strength.
“How God, how will you do what you have promised? When will you fulfill your promises?” might be your cry. Get still. Find Him again. He’s right there beside you. I pray for confusion, discouragement, hopelessness and the feeling of being overwhelmed and purposeless to be broken off you now in Jesus name. May you be able to hear and find Jesus again with clarity. {eoa}
