Jesus told Peter that before the rooster crowed, he would deny Him three times. By the time the sun rose, Jesus’ words had come to pass, and Peter was a broken man.
But what he didn’t know was that Jesus had a contingency plan—a plan that would cover his failures. It was upon this broken man that the Lord would build His church.
You see, your failures don’t have to cripple you. Mistakes give you the greatest opportunities to experience God’s grace. You may have stumbled, but Jesus chose you! That’s what qualifies you to serve Him once more.
The Lord says:
“The day hasn’t come that I have abandoned you, nor will it ever come. You haven’t fallen too short, and you haven’t escaped the grasp of My love for you.
“You think you’ve fallen away because of sins and failures, but it is My right hand that strengthens you and leads you to a place of intimacy with Me,” the Lord says. “My child, I chose you amongst the crowd. Amongst your brothers and sisters I’ve reached in and selected you as My chosen one who would serve Me and live with Me forever.
“Don’t be discouraged in the lack,” says the Lord. “Don’t be weary of the suffering, for it is in My time that I will again reach down and pull you from the darkness and lead you into the light.
“You are My beloved whom I am invested in,” says the Lord. “I lead you and guide you to a land you’ve never known. So don’t hold back; don’t resist; and don’t run away from the call I have for you. You are My child, and indeed, I will lead you to the land of promise that I have for you,” says the Lord.
Come to the Lord broken. Allow Him to rebuild you, refocus you and give you a new portion of grace. When you position yourself to be covered by the Lord, you will walk in your calling once again. {eoa}
