God recently spoke two words to me: “Open up”. When He gave me this prophetic word, the Lord immediately starting releasing this wisdom to me.
In 1 Samuel 1, we find the story of a woman named Hannah. Hannah was married to a man named Elkanah. He has two wives and his other wife, Peninnah had many children. But Hannah’s womb was closed. Hannah desperately wanted to have a baby. Hannah not only wanted to have a baby, she wanted a son. Hannah was crying out to God, asking for one child to be given to her. But God wasn’t thinking about giving Hannah one child. The Lord desired for Hannah to have many children. Hannah was just asking for one child, but God had more in mind. God didn’t want to just give her a child, God wanted to open up Hannah’s womb.
Many of us find ourselves thinking like Hannah. We are crying out for God to do one specific thing through us. You may have just want small dream. But God does not just want to fulfill that one small dream. Instead, God wants to open up your womb so you can carry all of the dreams He has for you. Many are believing for one small physical breakthrough. But in this hour, God wants to enlarge the way you think. God wants to open up your mental womb so you can understand the mindset of miracles and breakthrough. Whenever we have a physical issue, we should not just believe God to heal just that one area. We should believe God to open up our physical bodies to have a lifetime of health.
When Hannah was asking God to give her a son, she promised if God gave her a son, she would give him back to God. We hear people talk about giving of tithes and offerings, but the most powerful form of giving is giving of the firstfruits. Whenever the Lord fulfilled His promise to Hannah, she fulfilled her promise to God. She gave her son Samuel to God as firstfruits.
Some of us are asking God to do just one financial miracle. But God doesn’t just want to break through in one small area of your finances. God wants to open up the womb of your financial capacity. Some people are asking God to fix one small area of their marriage. God is saying He does not just want to just fix one small thing in your marriage. God wants to open up the womb of your marriage so you can have a fruitful and fulfilling marriage from now on.
Hannah gave her firstborn son, Samuel, to God, and God opened up her womb. 1 Samuel 2:21 says that God was gracious to Hannah and gave her three more sons and two daughters. Hannah went from being barren to having a quiverful of children. She became fruitful, and the Lord multiplied her.
We must learn from the story of Hannah. When we are believing God for just one thing, He never has just one thing in mind. Whatever area you are praying for, God wants you to open up in that area. In this hour, God wants to expand the mindsets of His children. God wants to see His kingdom fully manifested in the earth, and in order to see that happen, He must do many things through each of His children. Small mindsets will not be fruitful in this season. As the children of God, we must start declaring, “Open up finances! Open up resources! Open up wisdom! Open up marriage! Open up opportunities!” The word of the Lord that we must declare over our lives today is “open up.” The outpouring of the Holy Spirit that God is releasing and will release in the earth will require the wombs of our spirits to be open so that God can birth many ministries, businesses and movements through His people. In this hour, we must give our first fruits to God and let Him open up that area of our lives. {eoa}
