As we approach the second anniversary of the horrific Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023, I’m reminded how quickly the world forgets—or worse, how quickly it chooses conveniently not to remember.
On that dark day, Israel was struck not only by missiles and bullets but by a global wave of distorted narratives, cowardly silence from many world leaders, and a gross misrepresentation of events by much of the mainstream media. Thousands of innocent lives were affected, families shattered, and a sovereign nation once again forced to defend its very right to exist. And yet, if you tuned in to the usual outlets, you’d think Israel had somehow instigated it.

Let’s be clear: the October 7 attacks were unprovoked, barbaric and an affront to decency. They were acts of pure evil—and they demand the world’s moral clarity now more than ever. But here’s the sobering truth: that clarity is fading. The further we get from that anniversary, the more the narrative has shifted toward moral equivalence, as if both sides are somehow equally responsible. That’s not just lazy journalism; it’s dangerous deception.
Meanwhile, Gaza remains a ticking time bomb. While Israel has made significant gains in targeting and eliminating key Hamas terror cells, the battle is far from over. The problem isn’t just tactical; it’s structural. Hamas has embedded itself into the very fabric of Gaza—beneath schools, inside hospitals, and among civilian neighborhoods. It’s not just a military operation. It’s a battle for moral and spiritual ground in the face of a fanatical death cult.
Despite what the legacy media wants you to believe, Israel is not alone. Millions around the world stand with her. They may not march in the streets or receive glowing coverage on the nightly news, but they are there—praying, advocating, donating, defending. From American evangelicals to European Christian coalitions, from Latin American churches to African intercessors, there is a spiritual army rising on Israel’s behalf.
It just doesn’t make headlines.
We’ve seen countless pro-Israel rallies ignored by major outlets, while even the smallest anti-Israel protest gets front-page attention. But make no mistake—support for Israel remains strong among law-abiding, God-fearing citizens around the globe. They understand what’s at stake: not just the future of the Jewish state, but the moral compass of our time.
This is spiritual warfare as much as it is geopolitical. The Word tells us in Psalm 122:6 to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” That’s not just a poetic suggestion—it’s a command with prophetic implications. When we stand with Israel, we align ourselves with God’s purposes in the earth.
Israel has no choice but to prepare for long-term defense. Iron Dome has saved countless lives, but Israel knows it cannot rely solely on defense mechanisms. The next wave of threats will be more sophisticated—cyberattacks, drone swarms, disinformation campaigns—and Israel is already adapting.
At the same time, Israeli leaders are discussing what a post-Hamas Gaza must look like. There’s talk of rebuilding with accountability, creating humanitarian corridors that bypass terrorist gatekeepers, and possibly even international peacekeeping involvement—though many Israelis are understandably skeptical of foreign interference. Gaza must be transformed into a place of stability, security and eventually—God willing—prosperity for its people. But none of that can happen while Hamas and its ilk still breathe hatred into every child they indoctrinate.
The two-year mark of the October 7 attacks is more than a calendar reminder. It’s a spiritual checkpoint for the body of Christ. Are we still watching? Are we still praying? Are we still willing to speak out when it’s unpopular to do so?
The Bible is clear—those who bless Israel will be blessed. And those who curse her? Well, we know how that ends. At Charisma, we’ve stood with Israel for 50 years. That’s not changing now. I invite you to join us in November for the “Standing With Israel” event, sponsored by Christian Life Missions. The enemies of God’s purposes are gathering. But so is His remnant. And we know how the story ends.
We don’t walk in fear, but we also don’t walk in naivety. Now is the time for clarity, to speak the truth, even when it’s inconvenient. Now is the time to pray for the peace of Jerusalem—and to stand.
