As we approach the fall of 2025, the world feels as if it is teetering on the edge. From financial tremors that ripple across the global economy to mounting cultural chaos and intensifying threats to world peace, the signs of shaking are everywhere. It seems almost every day we’re hearing news of some crisis—economic, military or spiritual—that adds to the weight of uncertainty pressing upon this generation. But amid all the confusion and disruption, we must not lose sight of the hope that anchors our souls: the unshakable Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In his latest book, The Avatar, best-selling author Jonathan Cahn captures the moment in his trademark style of prophetic insight into deeper spiritual dynamics beneath the surface. The concept of “avatars” in the book refers not only to ancient pagan manifestations but to modern spiritual influencers and ideological strongholds that have returned under new names.
We are watching the collapse of cultural foundations that once upheld Western civilization. Truth is being deconstructed. Morality has become subjective. The biblical worldview that shaped our institutions is being systematically erased. But what does this mean for us heading into this next season?
Economically, we’re already feeling rumblings that could signal far greater upheaval. Inflation continues to rise in many parts of the world. Currencies are being devalued and the push toward centralized digital currencies—though cloaked in convenience—presents new dangers to personal freedoms and economic independence. But here’s what we must remember: God’s people have weathered storms before. In times of famine, God provided for His prophets. In times of persecution, the Gospel advanced. Economic crisis is not new to the kingdom of God. The early church grew amid Roman taxation and oppression. Our hope is not in Wall Street or Washington, but in the Rock that never fails.
Culturally, the noise is deafening. Radical ideologies have swept through schools, universities, entertainment and even some churches. The political left has become a vehicle for destructive doctrines—from wantonly destructive marxian schemes begetting gender confusion, race-based division and conflict on every street corner. We’ve watched as cancel culture has silenced voices of truth and elevated voices of rebellion. It is no exaggeration to say that Isaiah 5:20 has come alive before our very eyes: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.”
But this is where believers must not cower in silence. This is the moment to stand—not in anger, but in truth and love. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 that the love of many would grow cold and deception would abound. But He also said that the Gospel would be preached to the ends of the earth—and then the end would come. The harvest is still plentiful and we are not without purpose in this hour.
Geopolitically, the situation is just as volatile. Iran remains a ticking time bomb in the Middle East, continuing its nuclear pursuits and threatening Israel with annihilation. Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups have escalated attacks against Israel, keeping the region in a perpetual state of conflict. War is no longer a distant rumor—it is a present danger. In some parts of the world, it’s already here.
And yet, the Bible is clear: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Ps. 122:6, MEV). We are not passive observers—we are intercessors. We are not without hope. This is not merely a comforting verse to cross-stitch on a pillow. It’s a lifeline. We need to return to the Gospel with boldness and clarity. We don’t need to dress it up or water it down. The simple message that Jesus died for our sins, rose from the dead and offers eternal life to those who believe is still the most powerful force on earth. It still changes lives. And it’s still the only answer for the brokenness of our age.
Heading into the fall of 2025, I believe we are entering a season of both shaking and outpouring. There will be hardship, yes—but also revival. I believe we will see a separation between the wheat and the tares, between true disciples and cultural Christians. It will not be easy. But it will be glorious for those who remain faithful.
Let me encourage you: Do not lose heart. Do not get distracted by the noise. Stay grounded in the Word. Stay filled with the Spirit. Stay connected to the body of Christ. Keep your eyes on Jesus. The world may not know what is coming next—but we know Who is coming. And when He returns, He will not be mocked, outvoted or overthrown. He will reign in righteousness.
Until then, let us be found faithful. The darkness may grow darker, but that just means our light will shine brighter. Fall 2025 is not a reason to fear. It is a season to rise.
