As we deepen and strengthen our lifestyle of prayer, we may reach a point of doubt when we view our experiences from the perspective of the world rather than the kingdom. Beloved, you and I are kingdom
citizens. We are kingdom ambassadors. The kingdom of God is not a future destination. It is a present reality for all who submit to the lordship of Jesus Christ.
When we pray for the kingdom to come, we invite God to rule in our hearts, homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
When we pray “Your kingdom come” (Matt. 6:10), we align ourselves with God’s divine authority and rule on the earth. Praying about the kingdom is a call to righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17). It shifts our focus from personal gain to kingdom purpose. We have a divine purpose that will allow us to have the benefits of Jesus’ kingdom here on earth. Therefore, we begin to take hold of the responsibility to advance God’s agenda and to teach those all over the world the Lord’s truth.
