Evangelist, intercessor and co-founder of The Call and The Send Lou Engle is making an appeal for what he calls a “hinge of history fast” that will be a “worldwide prayer revolution” Sept. 2-Oct. 11, 2020.
“We are calling a global 40-day Jesus fast for a worldwide manifestation of Jesus the evangelist,” Engle’s website says. In a video in which he shares details of the fast, Engle says, “Before there was ever an original Jesus Movement, there was an original Jesus fast. Before Jesus ever did a miracle, before He ever preached the gospel, the Spirit of God drove Him into the wilderness to fast, to overcome Satan and his temptations for internal victory so He could loose external authority over the demonic realm, over the dark realm, so He could release salvation and deliverance to the world.”‘
Engle, who has called for numerous fasts through the years, told CBN News he was not intending to call a fast, but he saw the urgent need in this season, and God gave him a dream. “I felt the trauma, the crisis, and in the dream I said, ‘I’m going to pour out my heart; I’m going to pour out my soul for you and for America,’ and I woke up, and I knew that was my confirmation. I don’t know how many will do it, but I’m going to blow the trumpet because America needs help now!'”
