Baptist Preacher: How the Holy Spirit’s Power Will Soon Bring Denominational Unity

Abba’s House Pastor Ronnie Phillips Jr. may be a Southern Baptist preacher, but that doesn’t prevent him from embracing the gifts of the Spirit—or from preaching in Pentecostal churches throughout the year. In fact, Phillips Jr. says, the Holy Spirit commands that he do so.

And it’s the Holy Spirit, he believes, who will bring about a great move of God within the next two years and will promote denominational harmony within the church.

“The Bible says how good and pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to live together in unity (Ps. 133:1),” Phillips Jr. said on a recent edition of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “It also says in Matthew 18, ‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, there will I be in the midst of them.’

“Right now, the church is just as divided as the political world, but it’s changing because of the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe there is a generation rising that is going to reach people, and they’re going to put aside their differences and do kingdom things. I’m a part of that, and you’re a part of that.”

Abba House’s annual Fresh Oil, New Wine Conference, set for March 3-6 at Abba’s House in Hixson, Tennessee, will be a catalyst to set that move of God in motion. Once designed to help Baptist pastors overcome ministry burnout, the conference welcomes leaders from all denominations and will feature Pastor Jentezen Franklin and Bishop Dale Bronner, the founder of 19,000-member Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, as some of its guest speakers.
