Democracy will die in Democratic Party hands, Elon Musk is warning.
In a post on X looking at a gloomy vision of America if Democrats wrest the reins of power from Republicans, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO said the American people would become fodder for a liberal agenda that would entrench itself forever.
“My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will… Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate,” Musk wrote.
In the past, Democrats have tried to add Washington, D.C., which is heavily Democratic, as a state, but have failed.
Musk predicted Democrats would also “open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.”
Further, he said, Democrats would “increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.”
Democrats made noise about using the Senate majority they had after former President Joe Biden was elected to expand the court, but lacked the votes to do so because of internal opposition led by relative moderates such as former Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.
“This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word,” Musk said.
“All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post, he added, “It would be game over for America.”
Musk is doing his part.

The world’s richest man has spent $445 million on federal elections this cycle, according to CNN.
The donations could “single-handedly” alter the course of the midterms, according to Brendan Glavin of OpenSecrets, which monitors political spending.
Andrew Romeo, a representative of America PAC, which Musk founded, said that “if Democrats take control of Washington and win key gubernatorial and attorney general races this November, then America risks becoming a socialist, woke and borderless country.”
“These robust investments have allowed the G.O.P. apparatus to get its message out so Republicans can have a fighting chance to defy history,” he added.
Political precedent shows that the party of the president in power at the time generally takes losses during the midterm elections.
Given the razor-thin margin by which Republicans hold the House, and the slim margin by which they have a Senate majority, a shift of a few seats could reverse those majorities.
