Noah’s Ark Researchers Say Long-Awaited Confirmation Could Come This Winter

Could the mystery surrounding Noah’s Ark finally be inching toward an answer?

After decades of questions, skepticism and intense debate surrounding the boat-shaped Durupınar Formation in Turkey, researchers investigating the site say this winter could bring a breakthrough and possibly the confirmation they have been searching for.

Andrew Jones, founder of Noah’s Ark Scans, told Kayleigh McEnany during an appearance on Fox News’ “Saturday in America” that researchers are getting closer.

“In archaeology, you deal with probabilities, and we’re inching towards what we believe we’ll have confirmation this winter after our soil analysis is done,” Jones said.

That makes what happens next incredibly significant.

The Durupınar Formation has fascinated researchers for decades because of both its location in the mountains of Ararat and its remarkable dimensions. Jones says the formation measures approximately 300 cubits long, which is the same length God instructed Noah to build the Ark in Genesis 6.

“This is what got the previous researchers interested when it was first discovered in 1959,” Jones said. “Here we have what matches exactly what’s in the Bible.”

Yet the latest investigation is going deeper than dimensions.

Jones says researchers have now core-drilled more than 12 locations within the formation. Critics have long argued that Durupınar is simply a natural geological formation consisting of rock and bedrock.

But Jones says the drilling revealed something different.

“We did not find bedrock at all,” he told Fox News.

Instead, researchers discovered large deposits of highly enriched black soil. Those samples are now headed for further analysis, and the results expected this winter could be crucial.

Jones says a randomized 22-location soil survey conducted in 2024 already produced another intriguing finding: approximately three times more organic matter was discovered inside the boat-shaped formation than outside it.

“Noah’s Ark was a giant wooden boat according to the Bible,” Jones said. “So as wood decays, you’re going to find elevated organic matter.”

Jones says radar analysis has detected an organized pattern beneath the surface rather than simply random rocks and dirt. Researchers still must drill further to determine whether those anomalies represent thick layers, backfilled voids or something else entirely.

The team is not declaring Noah’s Ark found. The evidence still needs scientific analysis.

However, the investigation is entering a fascinating new chapter.

For thousands of years, Genesis has declared that the Ark came to rest “upon the mountains of Ararat.”

Now, researchers digging in those very mountains believe they may be getting closer than ever to discovering what has been hiding beneath the ground.
