Massive shifts in culture, politics and the Church marked 2025.
However, one thing was clear: The demonic tried to infiltrate every facet of life. Take none other than the top Google searches in 2025.
In a Google Trends newsletter, the organization noted some of the top searches, including the Labubu, KPop Demon Hunters, Taylor Swift, and the viral 6-7 trend.
As the newsletter noted under the Lifestyle section, “Labubu reached an all-time high in the U.S…”Labubu dolls, which Charisma Media previously reported on, have a spiritual connection to the demonic god Pazuzu, which people used to make charms for protection. Similarly, people now carry Labubu dolls as a charm.
Along these cultural lines, “three of the top trending songs were from KPop Demon Hunters,” and “KPop Demon Hunters was also the #1 movie and overall, the #2 top trending search this year.”
KPop Demon Hunters, which has the actual term “demon” in it, provides more than enough information on the true meaning of the content behind the film. While targeted toward children, the movie embraces the demonic and teaches children to accept, not repent from, sin and evil.
The craze that every child seems to be a part of right now is the viral “6-7” trend, which also stole the show on Google, ranking as the top “hand gesture” search. This trend, however, is not just a hand gesture. It is indeed from a song called “Doot Doot” by music artist Skrilla, who has openly said that he is into Santeria and occult sacrifices.
The top trending songs also provide a bit of a shock when considering that three of the top five songs were from Taylor Swift’s raunchiest album yet, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which has so many explicit themes in it that the lyrics should be kept far away from all ears. Bad Bunny, who has also created content with dark themes, charted as well.

So, what does this all mean? Why is the demonic increasing in popularity every year, just as God continues to pour out His Spirit in unprecedented ways?
The answer is simple: We are in a spiritual war that is beyond flesh and blood. The enemy has every intention of stealing, killing and destroying the work that God is doing. In particular, he is trying to annihilate the future of the next generation.
When darkness becomes this blatant, this celebrated, and this mainstream, it often signals that the enemy is running out of time. Throughout Scripture, whenever the powers of darkness seemed to surge, God was preparing to move in a greater way. The enemy always pushes hardest right before God breaks through. In the same way, today’s spike in demonic fascination is exposing the spiritual battle for what it truly is—no longer hidden, but unveiled.
At the same time, God is igniting a hunger in His people that cannot be quenched by trends, entertainment or empty spirituality. Deliverance, repentance, holiness, and the fear of the Lord are rising again in the Church. For every dark trend that tops the charts, testimonies of salvation, healing and freedom are increasing. The same generation the enemy is targeting is the very one God is marking for revival.
In the end, the story has already been written. Darkness may roar, but it cannot win. The enemy may attempt to capture the hearts of a generation, but God is raising a people who carry His fire and His authority. No demonic trend, no cultural shift, no spiritual counterfeit can stop the move of God that is unfolding.
