In a candid interview with Megyn Kelly, Erika Kirk revealed the one thing she was praying for after the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk.

When Kelly asked Kirk how many kids she and Charlie were hoping for, she told her they wanted four.

“We wanted to have four. Yeah. And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” Kirk said. “I was like, ‘Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.'”

Because of this desire to have had more children with Charlie, Kirk says she now encourages couples not to put off having kids.

“Now when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, like, don’t put it off.’ Especially if you’re a young woman, don’t put it off. You can always have a career. You can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children and they grow so fast and so quickly…I was praying. Both of us were, we were really excited to just expand our family,” she said.

As The National News Desk also reported, Kirk told Kelly in a separate part of the interview that she does not hold onto anger and bitterness against Charlie’s accused killer, Tyler Robinson.

“The enemy would love for me to be angry,” she said. “He would love it because it would distract me from building what Charlie entrusted to me: raising our babies, Turning Point… If I had any amount of anger in my heart then the Lord would not be able to use me.”

In the midst of unimaginable loss, Erika Kirk’s testimony is a reminder that even in life’s darkest valleys, God is still near and purpose still calls. In her courage, forgiveness, and unwavering trust in God’s purposes, Erika reminds the body of Christ that, even when the enemy strikes, we are still called to do the works that God has entrusted to our hands.
