The world is mourning the loss of Voddie Baucham Jr., a respected pastor, author and educator, who passed away on Sept. 25, 2025, at the age of 56. Founders Ministries announced on social media that after an unexpected medical emergency, Voddie “left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living.”

We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.

A Journey of Faith and Ministry
Born on Mar. 11, 1969, in Los Angeles, California, Baucham’s faith in Christ led to a life-long pursuit of God’s truth. He pursued extensive theological training, earning degrees from Houston Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, along with advanced study at the University of Oxford. His deep dedication to Scripture became the foundation of a ministry that would touch thousands worldwide.

International Impact and Leadership
In 2015, Baucham and his family relocated to Lusaka, Zambia, where he served as Dean of Theology at African Christian University for nearly a decade. There, he mentored young Christian leaders and helped shape a generation of pastors and educators. After returning to the United States in 2024, he founded Founders Seminary in Cape Coral, Florida, continuing his mission to equip the next wave of faithful Christian leaders.
