One of the key fundamental truths of the Kingdom is this: God’s power is perfected in our weakness. In other words, when we fully depend upon the Lord while we are in a state of vulnerability, His grace comes in and strengthens us. His “power is perfected in weakness” (2 Cor.12:9). Our temporary struggles can actually become a platform for future momentum and breakthrough!

Beloved, our problems are God’s opportunities.

Often though, when dealing with something we run from God. We can become so fearful and anxious that we shut off from honest communion with Father. Instead, we should cling to God in our challenges, exhibiting trust that the trial we are experiencing can actually turn into a gift. Rather than looking at our situation as a terrible thing, we need to embrace it and thank God for it. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:18). As we cling to the Lord and open up to Him in the midst of our problems, we will be established. His power will be perfected in our struggles, and not only will we overcome it — we will be better because of it. God’s power is made complete in our weaknesses.

We need to allow ourselves to become completely transparent with God, disclosing to Him everything, for He is trustworthy and always has our best interest at heart. Whether it is pride, selfishness, sexual temptation or another type of sin, we need to be open to Father. Maybe you are experiencing a bad or negative attitude, or dealing with a demonic spirit; whatever it is, you can talk to God about it. He is right with you in it. He wants to fuse Himself with you in the desert; He desires to lift you out of the valley. That is where His strength is magnified and exalted.

Paul, the great Apostle, wrote this:

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead (2 Cor. 1: 8, 9).

Paul was so challenged and feeling so heavy with what he was going through, in the natural, he did not even want to go on. It was that overwhelming. Paul said he “despaired even of life.” Do not misunderstand; Paul was not having suicidal thoughts. He just was expressing how great of a trial he was going through. But next, he gives us the reason why this was happening to him: “That we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.”

In other words, Paul was saying, “God put me in such a place of hardship and weakness that there is no natural solution for me. There is nobody that can help me right now. The physicians cannot help me. My mom and dad cannot help me. My lawyer cannot help me. Nobody can help me.” But then he said, “This all has come upon me so that I would come to the very end of every earthly resource; so that there is only one thing left to do, and that is to look up and connect with God — whom raises the dead.”

Paul knew the purpose of his plight was to bring him to a place where he was utterly dependent on God.

Beloved, the God who raises the dead is knocking at the door of our hearts.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20).

The Spirit of the Lord is continually knocking at the door of our hearts. He wants to come in deeper than we have let Him come. Sometimes He brings us into and through great times of struggle in order to bring us to a place where we will surrender to His Lordship over our lives.

Father God, in Yeshua’s name, we thank You, Abba, for Your love for us. Father, we thank You that, right now, You are knocking at the door of our hearts. You love us, and You are waiting for us to open up because You want to come in and fellowship with us.

Father, help us to expose our hearts to You. Father, I ask You to draw us to Yourself through Jesus. Help us to open our hearts wider to You. Help us to trust You. Help us to believe. Let us allow You to serve us.

Beloved one, He has come as a servant. He wants to serve you.

“I am among you as the one who serves” (Lk. 22:27).

But for Him to be able to serve you, empower you, equip you and bring you into something more, you have to talk freely with Him. You have to be authentic and transparent.

God loves us so much. Will you break away from looking for man to be your answer. Will you instead turn to the Lord and make Him first? God is knocking at the door of your heart right now. He is waiting for you to let Him in. Beloved, let’s put all our confidence in Him. It is not enough to just “crack open” the door a little. He wants us to completely open the door of our hearts, and trust Him enough to tell Him everything.
