The Perseid meteor shower will hit its incredible peak this evening, Tuesday, Aug. 12, through the morning time of Wednesday, Aug. 13. Here is what you need to know about seeing these spectacular signs from heaven.
According to Space.com, there will be a free livestream by the Virtual Telescope Project starting at 5:00 p.m. eastern time. The site also noted that the Perseids are most notable for “producing consistent meteors and occasional fireballs — ‘shooting stars’ that blaze more brightly than Venus in the sky.” This happens due to the earth making its way through Comet Swift-Tuttle’s debris.

What’s fascinating about the occurrence of this meteor shower is that it is happening in between the last full moon that took place on Aug. 9 and the new moon that is set to occur on Aug. 23.
This awe-inspiring display of the Perseid meteor shower serves as a vivid reminder of God’s incredible handiwork in creation. These moments invite us to pause and reflect on the majesty of the heavens, which Scripture declares as “the work of His fingers” (Ps. 8:3), proclaiming the glory of the Creator.
