In a newly released video, bestselling author and Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn addressed what he sees as a troubling shift in conservative commentator Candace Owens’ public statements toward Israel and the Jewish people. Cahn challenged her rhetoric, calling it “the oldest hatred in the world” repackaged for the internet age.

Owens has recently accused Israel of being a “cult nation,” where she claimed that Jewish refugees after the Holocaust were “pretending” to be refugees, and repeated conspiracies linking Jews to global control. She has also questioned the legitimacy of Zionism, dismissed Israel’s right to its ancestral land and invoked the centuries-old “blood libel” myth that Jews engage in ritual murder—a false accusation Cahn called “psychotic.” Cahn notes that Owens has “…increasingly turned to the dark side.”

Cahn tied these narratives to biblical prophecy, particularly Revelation 12, which describes a “woman” (Israel) under attack by the “dragon” (Satan). He argued that to slander or attack Israel is to align oneself with that dragon’s agenda. “Do you want to be on the side of Satan against God?” he asked.

Cahn also dismantled specific claims. Regarding the Star of David, which Owens called a cultic “hexagram,” Cahn explained its origin as a six-pointed geometric shape—“hexa” being Greek for “six”—and not occultic. He noted that by her logic, any nation with a five-pointed star on its flag would be guilty of occult symbolism, including the United States.

Addressing Zionism, Cahn returned to Scripture, defining it simply as the belief that the Jewish people have the right to return to the land God promised them. “The God of the Bible is a Zionist,” he said, pointing to multiple Old Testament prophecies about the regathering of Israel in the last days. he also pointed out that throughout the Bible, God defended the Jewish people.

“God rebukes Satan for accusing the Jewish people,” Cahn says. “He says, ‘I’ve saved this people, this Israel, out of the fire.’ And so God is specifically speaking of the Jewish people who have returned to the land of Israel as refugees, not pretend refugees, real refugees.”

Beyond that, he reminded viewers of Israel’s unique contributions to the world: “They brought you the Word of God. They brought you the knowledge of God. They brought you the Messiah. They brought you Jesus, your Savior, your faith, your hope, your new life—your everything.”

Cahn also stressed that Israel’s survival since its rebirth in 1948 has been nothing short of miraculous. He recounted how, on the very day the UN partition plan took effect, five Arab armies invaded the fledgling nation—yet Israel prevailed. Today, he said, the same spiritual and political forces still seek its destruction.

In his closing remarks, Cahn warned Christians and conservatives against letting anti-Israel conspiracy theories infiltrate their thinking. He reminded his audience of Genesis 12:3: “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you.” Such curses, he warned, are not worth the fleeting attention gained from provocative online content.

Urging prayer for Owens rather than hostility, Cahn said his hope is for her—and anyone influenced by similar rhetoric—to “take it down now” and turn away from dangerous deception. He concluded with God’s promise from Jeremiah 29:11 as both a word to Israel and to all believers: “I know the plans I have for you… to give you a future and a hope.”

In the end, Jonathan Cahn’s response serves as a reminder that the ultimate battle is not against people, but against spiritual forces. Amid accusations, confusion and the clash of worldviews, the Lord’s Word stands unshaken, His covenant unbroken and His plans for His people secure.
