From a biblical perspective, any pursuit of peace must be measured against the prophetic timeline God has laid out in Scripture. The Bible warns that in the last days, there will be cries of “Peace and safety,” but sudden destruction will come (1 Thess. 5:3). While leaders may rise promising global harmony, true and lasting peace will only come through the return of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6).

Donald Trump’s efforts to broker peace between nations may serve as a significant geopolitical development, but for believers, it is also a reminder to watch and pray. Prophecy reveals that in the end times, political agreements and global coalitions will set the stage for events leading to Christ’s return, including the rise of a world leader who will promise peace yet bring deception (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 13).
Christians are called to be discerning—praying for leaders and for peace, yet anchoring their hope not in human governments but in God’s eternal kingdom. As history unfolds before our eyes, the urgency grows for the Church to remain faithful, proclaim the gospel, and be ready, for our Lord said, “When you see these things happening, lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28).
