“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen,” (Heb. 11:1).
Faith is a key element to walking out this journey of life with Christ. However, fear and doubt come almost too easily for most of us. Life is full of the “what-ifs” which can lead us to second guess God and take us into a position of doubting God’s goodness and promises. In a special message, Pastor Todd Mullins shared with Christ Fellowship Church some of the key elements that have helped him overcome his own doubts and fears and instead live out a life of faith.

Early on, Mullins planned to become a doctor, but God had other plans. Eventually going into senior leadership, Mullins experienced overwhelming self-doubt about his abilities to do what the Lord had called him to do.
He vividly recalled a moment that shook him to the core—standing before spiritual giants like John Maxwell and Reinhard Bonnke to preach. The weight of inadequacy pressed on him, and he pleaded with God for reassurance.
“I remember taking all my fears and insecurities to God,” Mullins says. “I didn’t think I [had] what it took, and I didn’t know if I [had] enough.”
This is when Mullins says that the Lord spoke to him. At first, he thought perhaps God would remind him that he was chosen and anointed. However, that’s not the reply he received.
“I heard the voice of the Holy Spirit inside of me just whisper, ‘Todd, you’re right. You aren’t enough. But I Am.'”
That moment changed everything. It reminded him—and all of us—that doubt is a universal struggle. Even the most confident people wrestle with it. If left unchecked, it can cripple faith. But when we surrender to God, He can take all of our questions, doubts and fears and turn them into a great catalyst for trust.
