At a campaign rally in Orlando, Florida, last week, Paula White told a large crowd of Donald Trump supporters that she gave the Republican front-runner a Bible inscribed with a “prophetic word” from world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham for his 60th birthday.
“I’ll never forget on his 60th birthday. I thought, What am I going to get you for your birthday?” she said. “I found out that he really wanted a Bible that had been signed and a letter by Billy Graham. So for his 60th birthday, Billy Graham wrote a prophetic word and a letter to Mr. Donald Trump.”
According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), however, the inscription probably wasn’t as prophetic as we were led to believe. A spokesman for the BGEA tells Charisma News:
“In 2005, Paula White reached out to Mr. Graham, asking him to sign a Bible for Donald Trump as a gift from her for his 60th birthday. A Bible was sent to Ms. White with the inscription ‘To Donald Trump, God Bless you always. Billy Graham.’
“Following Mr. Graham’s 95th birthday in November 2014, Mr. Graham wrote a letter to Mr. and Mrs. Trump, thanking them for attending his party. At this time, another Bible was mailed to Mr. Trump. The letter with the Bible was a simple message of encouragement, similar to what a number of guests received.”
